The origins of Mount Slamet


Mount Slamet, located on the border of Tegal, Pemalang, Bradford, Banyumas and Purbalingga the back stretch after a long dormant since May 2009.

Based on a story developed in the community, Mount Slamet was first named by Sheikh Maulana Maghribi, a Muslim missionaries from the Roman country-Turkey. There, he was a prince.
One day, after carrying out praying Fajr, Sheikh Maulana saw a mysterious light in the sky soaring. The Prince was felt interested and want to find out the source of the mysterious light.
He-was decided to investigate while spreading Islam in the company of very loyal followers, named Haji Datuk, as well as hundreds of royal guards. They sailed toward the mysterious light source.
However, when board the ship arrives at the beach Gresik, East Java, the light suddenly reappeared in the west. He then decided to go to the west to reach the beach Pemalang, Central Java.
On the beach Pemalang, Sheikh Maulana balangnya sent upstream to return to Turkey. While he traveled in the company of Datuk Haji walk to the south while spreading Islam.
When light is passed through the area of Banjar, suddenly he was sick itching all over his body and it was a difficult disease to cure the itch.
One night, after running the Tahajjud prayers, Sheikh Maulana inspiration if he had to go to Mount Gora. Arriving on the slopes of Mount Gora, he asked to leave their own Datuk Haji and wait somewhere that emit smoke. Apparently there is a hot spring that has seven showers. Sheikh Maulana decided to stay there for treatment by regularly bathing in hot springs has seven springs.
Thanks to the efficacy of the hot water, the disease eventually recovered. Then Sheikh Maulana gave the name of this place becomes Shower Seven.
Residents call by the name of Sheikh Maulana Mbah Upper Wind because it comes from a far country. Then Sheikh Maulana Maghribi give the title to Datuk Haji as Rusuludi which in Javanese means Batur Kang Adi (Servant of the faithful).
While the village was then known as Baturadi which gradually became Baturaden that in writing using the "R" is: Baturaden. Since Sheikh Maulana healed itch and safety on the slopes of Mount Gora so he changed his name to Mount Slamet.
